SPREAD THE WORD CAMPAIGN!!

It’s simple.

You send a mass email to all your friends and make sure to CC or BCC info@mysisterocean.com. If we see that you’ve sent a message for them to check out our website and/or buy our album, and you don’t mention that we asked you to, then we will reply to your email with a secret URL where you can DOWNLOAD the new songs before we release them to the public in August. These songs make up the upcoming EP entitled - “My Sister Ocean is Amazing.”

So, STEP 1. Email everyone you can, and make sure we are CC’d as well. That, or email us a link to a forum where you mention MSO.

STEP 2: We will send you the secret URL for the new songs.

OH - the person that emails the most people (or shows us links to forums where they’ve mentioned MSO) will win a new MSO shirt, an autographed copy of Nucularboy, AND a one of a kind, original CD of the 3 “soon to be released” songs, PLUS 3 demos (that’s 6 songs). DEADLINE: JULY 5th.

I’m happy to announce the arrival of my 2nd daughter, Sloan Juniper Holden.

Born June 16th.

My wife and 1st daughter (now 2 and a half) are doing very well. We’re taking some time to chill! (I’m actually just at a wireless hotspot taking a quick break from the hospital to grab a coffee and get some air) We’ll be in the hospital a couple more days and my other daughter is with her nana and papa in the meantime.

We feel lucky and blessed to have 2 healthy children - and our own health isn’t too shabby either. I’ve been knocking on wood a lot lately - waiting for someone to pinch me to wake me up. My daughters have such great people around them (my close buds and all our family) and I’m thrilled to be a big part of their journey now. Every stage brings something new and exciting.

Anyway - this is a brief post to announce all is well.

In other news, the new songs have been shared with the street team. They will be made available to the general public with some other songs in a Digital EP, likely in a few months.

So excited!

Wow.

2 days in Powersound and we came away with some music that feels energetic and even thought provoking. We have some more tracking to do in our “home studio” and then will likely have a handful of songs for us all to dig on for a while. I believe we’ll be playing the new songs at our upcoming shows in June.

In the studio tomorrow…

Eug and I are heading into the studio for drum tracking and writing…

I’m excited mainly because I’ve been saving up my creative juices for this session, and have a tremendous amount of positive energy flowing through me lately. Spring does that I guess…

I’ve spent the majority of the last 2 weeks in the studio working as a producer on other projects, but now I’m ready to do the MSO thing.

 

Working on a movie score…

I’m at Powersound Studios all week producing the score for a movie being released this summer. We’ve done 2 days so far and have about one or 2 days left to finish the string parts and mix.

Then this weekend I’ll start working on some tunes with Jezibelle.

Next week some MSO tracking will happen as well, so I’m like a Powersound hermit this month - time flies in the studio….

Today (May 12th) I’ve been married for 7 years. Happily. Very happily.

With another addition coming in June, I’ve been super-motivated to get shit done. So, it’s shaping up to be a busy 6 weeks before the C-section date. Then I plan to be off the radar for a week or so! Shanda starts her maternity leave at the end of May though, so I’m super stoked to have my family home for about 15-16 months before Shanda goes back to work in September 2009.

Got some renos happening in my back yard, maybe a new fence, and maybe even new shingles too… so lots of stuff to keep me busy! I’m looking forward to our summer vacation…

MSO has 2, possibly 3 shows in June, and possibly one in July, but we’ll see…
